Frequently asked questions

Everything parents want to know about live 1-on-1 online tutoring for kids ages 4–13.

What is Tutorly Bird?

Tutorly Bird is a parent-managed online tutoring platform for children ages 4–13. Parents create an account, add their child's profile, and book live 1-on-1 sessions in reading, phonics, writing and early math with a kind tutor.

How old should my child be?

Sessions are designed for ages 4 through 13 — from pre-K through about 8th grade. The tutor adjusts to your child's level, so siblings of different ages can both use Tutorly Bird.

How long is each session?

You can choose 30 or 45 minutes. Younger children or new learners usually start with 30 minutes; 45 minutes works well once a child can stay focused a little longer.

How does booking work?

Parents buy session credits or a subscription, then book a time that suits your family. Each booking uses one credit. You can book any subject with your credits and reschedule or cancel when plans change.

Do children need their own account?

No. Only parents create accounts. Children never sign up or enter personal information — you manage everything from the parent dashboard.

Is Tutorly Bird safe and private?

Your family's details stay with you. We never collect information directly from children, and only the parent account holder can see their own family's sessions, notes and progress.

What subjects can my child learn?

Four friendly subjects made for young learners: Reading, Phonics, Writing, and Math. You can mix and match subjects using the same session credits.

How do I follow my child's progress?

After each session, the tutor leaves a short lesson note in your dashboard — what was covered, observations, and simple practice for next time.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel a scheduled session from your dashboard, and you can stop your subscription whenever you like. Unused session credits remain in your account.

How do I get started?

Create a free parent account, add your child's profile, add session credits, and book your first session — often for the same week.
