Phonics tutoring — your questions
My child doesn't know any letter sounds yet. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Sessions start wherever your child is — even pre-readers begin with a few sounds and build up from there at their own pace.
How is phonics different from reading tutoring?
Phonics focuses on the sounds letters make and blending them into words — the mechanics of reading. Reading tutoring builds on that with fluency and comprehension. Many families do both.
How often should my child do phonics sessions?
One or two short sessions a week is a great rhythm for young children. Consistency matters more than length at this age.
Can I switch subjects later?
Yes. You can book any subject — reading, phonics, writing or math — with your session credits at any time.
